Frequently Asked Questions

Where are you located?

I work at Hereditary Tattoo at 7 S Lincoln St. Wilmington, De. We accept cash or card. Parking is located on the side of the building on Tulip Street or on S Lincoln street (however parking directly out front is only 2 hour parking).

How do I make an appointment?

My books open on the first of every other month to book for the following 2 moNths (ex. January and February booking would open December 1st). In order to book, please fill out the form I post on the home page of my website. If you click on the link and it is disabled, that means I am not currently accepting new bookings at that time. The form will be enabled at Noon (unless otherwiSe noted above the form link on my homepage). Please keep in mind, I do not take on all proposals; projects are chosen based on concept.

Do you require a deposit?

I require a $100 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit that goes towards the cost of your tattoo and holds your appointment slot. If it is a multiple session piece, the deposit comes off of the LAST session. The deposit can be made via PayPal. I do have a policy where If you do not show up for your appointment, are 30 minutes late or you fail to reschedule with at least 48 hours notice the deposit will be forfeited and another deposit will be required to reschedule. Deposits are valid for 6 months and then expire.

What is the purpose of my deposit?

The deposit is to ensure that clients show up or do not cancel last minute. As time is valuable, I do keep deposits if a client is 30 minutes late (as it will most likely affect my schedule for the rest of the day), if clients fail to reschedule without giving me 48 hours notice (giving me enough time to hopefully fill the time slot) or if a client no call no shows (leaving me without a client for the day and thus a total loss. This is also unfair to other client’s I could have given this time slot to.)

How much do you charge?

I charge $175 an hour and have A $350 minimum (2 hour minimum session) on week days. I charge $200 an hour and have a $400 minimum on Saturdays. I do not work sundays. Please let me know if you have a budget you are working with before I design your tattoo. My prices are non-negotiable, but i am always willing to split pieces into sessions to help accommodate you.

Do you send designs in advance?

Unfortunately I do not send my designs in advance, you will see the design the day of your appointment. I am willing to make small changes if need be, however, if more significant changes need to be made I may charge a redraw fee of $100 (equal to your deposit cost) And I may need to reschedule the appointment.

Do you do consultations and do I need one?

I do in person appointment based consultations if necessary, they typically only take about 20 minutes or so. Consultations are usually needed for larger work so that I can measure your body and make sure the piece custom fits you. A consultation may also be necessary for gap filler work if you are trying to fit a piece into an area surrounded by other tattoos. Consultations are usually not necessary for one session pieces. When filling out the form to book an appointment, please be as descriptive as possible so I have a clear understanding of your concept. I will let you know if I need to set up a consultation with you prior to your appointment.

Why was my proposal not accepted?

I choose proposals based on concept, I do not take on all booking submissions. The reason a proposal may be declined is because: 1. it does not fit within the guidelines of projects I am interested in doing at the moment 2. I have tattooed designs similar to your concept many times already 3. the design is smaller than my 6 inch minimum requirement 4. It does not fit within my style 5. It is not something I believe I am capable of doing. If I do not take on your project I will try my best to recommend another artist for you who would be better suited for the job. On the “booking” highlight on my instagram page as well as listed below on this page, is a long list of projects I am interested in and those that I am currently not accepting so you have a better idea of what I would like to do. Unfortunately answering booking requests takes a long time and sometimes I do not respond to everyone. I apologize if you do not receive a response (I’m working hard to improve on my response times and making sure everyone hears from me) and I encourage you to please try again for the following booking period!

How should I prepare for my appointment/what should I bring?

Please bring a valid photo ID or passport as well as any snacks/water you may need to stay hydrated and fed during your appointment. Although food is not allowed in the Tattoo area, you are more than welcome to eat in the lobby or another room of the shop. Please come dressed appropriately for the placement of your tattoo ensuring that I will easily have access to the area. Please do not apply any lotions to the area prior to the appointment as my stencil will have a difficult time sticking to your skin. I also ask that you do not use any tattoo numbing creams without asking me first as Certain brands can effect the way yoUr tattoo heals and make it appear more faded. Make sure you are not hungover and that you are well fed and well rested.

Can I bring friends?

No, I have a private room in the shop which cannot comfortably ACCOMMODATE more than 2 people (myself and my client.) Since our lobby area is very small we ask that you come alone at this time.

Are touch ups free?

Yes, I do touch up my own work for free the first time. If another touch up is necessary I will ask to have a look at the tattoo prior to ensure it is my fault and not carelessness on the clients part. I do not touch up other artists work.

What kind of tattoos do you NOT do?

I do not do script, color tattoos (with the eXception of white highlights), small tattoos, photo realism, silhouette pIeces, sunfloWers, copies of other artists tattoos, floral designs that have more than 3 different types of flowers and floral designs smaller than 10 inches, tree designs, band logos, mandalas and geometric patterns, I am unable to take on every project so please do not be offended if your proposal is not accepted.

What kind of tattoos do you like to do?

These are the types of projects i like to do and the proposals that will most likely be accepted: Creepy occult themed pieces such as, but not limited to, demons, witches, bones, skulls, reapers, creepy houses/cathedrals, goats, rodents, oddities, dragons, suits of armor, anything medieval, old etchings/woodcuts/engravings, vintage scientific illustrations, medical oddities, medieval imagery, torture devices, larger floral pieces (especially pieces only involving 1-3 different types of flowers.)

How do I take care of my tattoo?

Please check the aftercare section of my website.

Can I bring my child or dog to the appointment?

No, please make alternative arrangements for your children/pets as they are not allowed in the shop.

A few things to keep in mind:

-If you have other tattoos in the area you are asking me to tattoo, a photo of the area will be required so i can see the available space and existing tattoo. Please submit clear, straight on photos of the area when you fill out my booking form. You may be required to come in for a consultation so i can trace the available space.

- please do not email me outside of the booking period for appointments as i purposely open my books on certain dates to avoid answering emails all the time.

- if we are working on a multiple session piece (such as a sleeve/back piece etc.) it is best to not wait too long between appointments as artists styles do change and develop over time and my work may be noticeably different if you wait 6 months or more between appointments.
